Ingredients

Meatballs
  • 2 lb frozen fully cooked meatballs Frozen for convenience; no thawing needed.
  • 1 jar (18 oz) BBQ sauce Use your favorite store-bought BBQ sauce.
  • 1 cup grape jelly Helps create the glossy, sticky sauce.
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce Adds savory depth to balance sweetness.
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder Seasoning that blends into the sauce.
  • 1 chopped fresh parsley For garnish only.

Equipment

  • 1 Dutch oven

Method

Make the sauce
  1. In a slow cooker, whisk the BBQ sauce, grape jelly, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder until smooth.
  2. Add the frozen fully cooked meatballs and stir to coat thoroughly in the sauce.
Slow cook
  1. Cover and cook on LOW for 3-4 hours, or HIGH for 2 hours, until hot throughout.
  2. Stir once halfway through cooking to help the meatballs stay evenly coated.
Finish and serve
  1. Stir again until the sauce looks glossy and the meatballs are heated through.
  2. Add chopped fresh parsley on top, keep on WARM, and serve with toothpicks.

Notes

For the slickest, thickest sauce, stir once halfway and again right at the end so the jelly fully melts and turns glossy. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days in a covered container; rewarm on LOW in the slow cooker or microwave until hot. Freezing is best avoided because the sauce texture can change after thawing. If you want a lower-sugar option, use sugar-free grape jelly and a reduced-sugar BBQ sauce while keeping the same cook times.
