Ingredients

Cranberry Sauce with Orange Marmalade
  • 12 oz fresh cranberries
  • 0.75 cup sugar
  • 0.75 cup water
  • 0.5 cup orange marmalade
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 0.25 salt pinch

Equipment

  • 1 saucepan

Method

Simmer the cranberry base
  1. Bring sugar and water to a boil in a saucepan, stirring just until dissolved.
  2. Add fresh cranberries and simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the berries burst.
Finish with marmalade
  1. Stir in orange marmalade, lemon juice, and salt, making sure everything is fully combined.
  2. Simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce looks glossy and coats the back of a spoon, then remove from the heat.
Chill and serve
  1. Cool the cranberry sauce to room temperature, then cover and chill until set before serving.

Notes

For the best spoonable texture, chill the sauce at least 1 hour; it will thicken as it cools. Store covered in the refrigerator up to 5 days. Freeze up to 2 months; thaw overnight in the fridge and stir before serving. For a lower-sugar option, replace sugar with a 1:1 baking-style sweetener designed to measure like sugar.
