Ingredients

Butterscotch schnapps
  • 2 oz Butterscotch schnapps
Apple vodka
  • 1.5 oz apple vodka or regular vodka
Apple cider
  • 1 oz apple cider
Caramel vodka or caramel sauce
  • 0.5 oz caramel vodka Use 1 tbsp caramel sauce instead if that’s what you have.
Cream or half-and-half (optional)
  • 1 oz cream or half-and-half Optional for a creamier texture.
Ice
  • 1 Ice for shaking
Caramel drizzle inside glass + garnish
  • 1 For garnish: caramel drizzle inside the glass + thin apple slice + cinnamon stick

Equipment

  • 1 cocktail shaker
  • 1 martini glass

Method

Make the caramel-draped glass
  1. Drizzle caramel sauce inside a chilled coupe or martini glass, coating a thin trail down the inside. Refrigerate for 10 minutes to set, then keep the glass cold.
Shake the cocktail
  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, enough to chill the shaker and create rapid cooling. Add the ice before measuring so everything stays cold.
Add ingredients
  1. Add butterscotch schnapps, apple vodka, apple cider, caramel vodka, and cream if using into the shaker. Ensure the cream is added only if you want a creamier version.
Shake
  1. Shake vigorously for 15 seconds with the lid sealed and the shaker held firmly. You should see the drink turn colder and slightly frothy.
Strain
  1. Double-strain the drink into the prepared caramel glass to keep the surface smooth. Aim for a clean pour that preserves the caramel trail.
Garnish and serve
  1. Garnish with a thin apple slice and a cinnamon stick. Serve immediately for the best aroma.

Notes

Pro tip: chill the glass well before drizzling so the caramel sets cleanly and doesn’t slide. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator up to 1 day, but the texture is best fresh; do not freeze. For a lighter option, use half-and-half in place of full cream or skip the cream entirely.
