Ingredients

Pork chops
  • 4 bone-in pork chops (1 inch thick) About 1 inch thick for even baking.
Honey-soy glaze
  • 3 tbsp honey Use regular honey; it caramelizes as it bakes.
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce Adds saltiness and depth to the glaze.
  • 2 garlic, minced Minced garlic blends evenly into the sauce.
Seasoning
  • 1 salt and pepper to taste Season liberally to help the glaze cling and boost flavor.

Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan

Method

Prep and preheat
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a sheet pan with foil.
  2. Mix honey, soy sauce, and garlic until combined into a smooth glaze.
Season and coat
  1. Season pork chops with salt and pepper on both sides.
  2. Brush the honey-soy mixture generously over each pork chop.
Bake and glaze
  1. Bake for 10–12 minutes, then flip and re-baste with the glaze for even caramelization.
  2. Bake 10–13 minutes more until the internal temperature reaches 145°F and the glaze is caramelized and shiny.
Rest and serve
  1. Rest the pork chops for 3 minutes before serving immediately.

Notes

For best results, let the pork chops come to a close-to-room temperature for 5–10 minutes before baking so they cook evenly. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days; reheat gently so the glaze doesn’t darken too much. Freezing is not recommended because the glaze texture can soften. For a lower-sugar option, use a sugar-free honey substitute (measure by the label) while keeping the baking time the same.
