Ingredients

Baguette crostini base
  • 1 baguette
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
Whipped feta
  • 8 oz feta
  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 tbsp Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
Topping and garnish
  • 0.25 cup hot honey
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes for garnish
  • 1 tbsp fresh thyme for garnish

Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan
  • 1 food processor

Method

Toast the baguette
  1. Preheat the oven to 400F. Brush the baguette slices with olive oil and arrange them on a sheet pan.
  2. Bake for 6-8 minutes, until golden and crisp, with a visible toasted edge and lightly browned surface.
Make the whipped feta
  1. Blend the feta, cream cheese, Greek yogurt, and lemon zest in a food processor until fluffy and smooth.
Assemble crostini
  1. Spread a thick layer of whipped feta on each crostini so the topping holds its shape.
  2. Drizzle with hot honey and top with red pepper flakes and fresh thyme, creating a glistening finish.

Notes

For the smoothest whipped feta, use room-temperature cream cheese so it blends without lumps. Store assembled crostini in the refrigerator for up to 2 days, but toast the baguette fresh if you want maximum crispness. The whipped feta can be frozen up to 2 months; thaw overnight in the fridge and re-stir before spreading. For a lighter option, use low-fat cream cheese and low-fat Greek yogurt—texture stays close to the original.
