Ingredients

Cocktail sausages
  • 2 14 oz cocktail sausages
Honey mustard glaze
  • 0.3333333333 cup honey
  • 3 tbsp whole grain mustard
  • 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1 clove garlic minced
Toppings
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • 1 fresh chives chopped

Equipment

  • 1 sheet pan

Method

Brown the sausages
  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat, then add the cocktail sausages and brown for 5-6 minutes, turning so they color evenly.
  2. Move the sausages slightly aside, add the minced garlic, and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant, stirring so it doesn’t brown too fast.
Glaze and simmer
  1. Whisk the honey, whole grain mustard, Dijon mustard, and soy sauce until smooth, then pour the mixture over the sausages.
  2. Simmer over medium heat for 8-10 minutes, stirring often, until the glaze is thick and sticky and coats the sausages.
Finish and serve
  1. Sprinkle the sesame seeds and chopped chives over the sausages, then serve warm with toothpicks.

Notes

Pro tip: stir frequently during the 8-10 minute simmer so the honey-mustard glaze thickens without scorching. Store leftovers in the refrigerator up to 3 days; rewarm gently in a skillet with a splash of water or soy sauce to loosen the glaze. Freezing is not recommended because the glaze can become grainy after thawing. For a gluten-aware swap, use gluten-free soy sauce.
